Hi, I'm Joyce, a Filipino-American author/illustrator/teacher who is often sidetracked by volunteer leadership roles for nonprofit organizations. Originally from Miami, I lived in Michigan for a while there, and currently reside in a small town in California with my family, a bearded dragon, and a house panther named Mr. Ray. 
Previously, I was a college radio DJ, toy and activity book designer, middle school animation instructor, elementary science teacher, and sometimes I'm Mrs.Rage, a roller derby referee. These days, I play pickleball and am working on all the art that brings me joy.
